Registered Nurse (RN) programs like our Associate of Science in Nursing differ from other nursing programs in several key ways:

  • RN vs. LPN: RN programs provide more comprehensive education than Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) programs, allowing for greater responsibility and higher earning potential
  • Associate vs. Bachelor's: Our Associate degree can be completed in less time than a Bachelor's degree while still qualifying graduates to become registered nurses
  • Career Advancement: RN credentials provide a foundation for further education and specialization in nursing
  • Scope of Practice: RNs have a broader scope of practice than LPNs, nursing assessment, developing care plans, and supervising other healthcare staff

Graduates of our registered nurse program have diverse career opportunities including:

  • Hospital settings (emergency departments, intensive care, medical-surgical units)
  • Long-term care facilities and rehabilitation centers
  • Outpatient clinics and physician offices
  • Home health care services
  • Public health departments
  • School nursing
  • Opportunities to continue education toward BSN and advanced nursing degrees

The nursing profession continues to experience strong demand, with the Bureau of Labor Statistics projecting continued growth in the coming years.
